Jam Jah Mondays
Saturday, 5th December 2015
Jam Jah Mondays is the longest lasting weekly reggae linkup in Moseley, and even possibly in the UK. Lead by Bongo Damo, Robidon and Lion Art, the Soundsystem division of the Friendly Fire music label has been bringing bass lines and good vibes to the area alongside live percussion and live MCs each and every single Monday of the year without fail, since 2001.
With the Bull’s Head becoming the long anticipated Cuban Embassy, Jam Jah Mondays have started a new residency at the Dark Horse, formerly the Cross.
A larger space, a louder soundsystem, and a more varied selection of drinks makes the Dark Horse into Jam Jah’s new home – but the formula stays the same: Reggae music from across time and continents, exclusive dubplates , remixes, productions and live performances, and the most diverse crowd you will ever mix with, of all ages and walks of life. More than just a club night, Jam Jah Mondays are often referred to as a “local institution” catering for the local community for the last 14 years.
As always, Jam Jah Mondays are free entry from 9pm-12am (with occasional 2am licenses), specially tailored drinks promos (cheaper before 10.30pm) and a whole heap of smiley faces and skanking feet.
