M&S café plus sheltered homes planned at Meteor Ford site
Sunday, 14th May 2017
More detailed plans for the former Meteor Ford site on Wake Green Road show an M&S Café and eight proposed sheltered accommodation units being built in addition to the M&S Foodhall
M&S (Marks and Spencer) will occupy the major part of the ground floor and says it has plans for a café as well as a food hall. Birmingham Council’s planning department is considering proposals to build the eight sheltered accommodation units elsewhere on the site. There are no further details about who will be developing these units.
There are also plans for 25 car parking spaces within the development, four of which are for blue disabled badge holders and two for “parent and child.” In addition to the M&S Foodhall and Café, there will be two other units – both much smaller than the M&S part of the site. Further details will be announced soon.
An M&S Spokesperson said: “We’re excited to announce that an M&S Café will be part of our new Foodhall in Moseley, offering customers somewhere to enjoy a coffee and cake or a catch up with friends over lunch.” The M&S Moseley Foodhall is set to open in Summer 2017.
